Lake Conditions

July 20, 2006 -- Since we've had so many phone calls after last week's article in the San Antonio Express-News, thought we better update you from our perspective. Yes, the lake is down considerably. However, our cement ramp in the south cove is still accessible and we are launching 30-40 boats every Saturday and Sunday with no problems. The depth at the end of our marina is 85 ft and in the middle of the lake in front of Joe's it is 101 ft deep. (Thanks, Mr. Smith, for the accurate reading!)

We are still open fully for business whether it's boating, or picnic/camping you are interested in. The only draw-back is the lake level for swimming with small children. There is one cove that is sandy and gradually gets deeper, otherwise, most of the swimming areas are deep water at the cliff drop-off. We recommend you put children in a life jacket or flotation device for their safety. Many folks are still enjoying the lake regardless.

Our grounds will be closed to the public on Friday, July 28 for a private event. We will still be open for public boat launching, divers until 4 p.m., and of course, our boat tenants and annual launch passers always have 24/7 access.

Don't forget that Pearl's Cabin is still available for rent, and we are booking ahead, so call early to book your special weekend (anniversary, birthday, family gathering, just time alone). Call us...we'll help you make it happen.
