4th of July & Lake Update

June 21, 2006 -- The 4th of July weekend is fast approaching. We will be open Monday and Tuesday July 3rd and 4th since the holiday is observed on Tuesday to allow for full weekend camping. Call soon to make your reservations. We will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, July 5th and 6th. If the majority of campers request to stay over on the 4th, we will consider being open the 5th only for the purpose of campers to check out by 10:00 a.m.

At the present time, we are unable to confirm any fireworks shows on the lake, but will do an update if we receive any confirmation. The lake level is down about 25 feet. We are still launching all sizes of boats from an asphalt road in our south cove without any problems, however, we encourage boaters to be back out by dark for safety reasons as there are no lights in that area. For parents concerned about swimming conditions for little ones, our swim rope is not up this year but we do have a shallow area at the bottom of the main ramp that isn't being used where kids can safely play in the water and it isn't too deep. Since the water is low, we do have plenty of beach!

Come see us, and have a safe and happy 4th of July at Joe's!
