4th of July, 2009

June 24, 2009 -- We are currently taking reservations for 4th of July weekend. Sites are still available in the RV park for pop-ups or smaller trailers, primitive campsites, and picnic sites. The lake level as of this morning was 35.28 feet below spillway. The boat ramp is available for boats 22 feet and smaller, and we prefer 4-wheel drive vehicles for launching. IF you have 2-wheel drive, we will need to assist you back up the ramp with our bobcat. Therefore, the boat ramp is only open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for safety reasons and no lighting in the back. Due to the lake level, we will not have a swimming area until the water is back over the beach and a swim rope can be installed. Friday/Saturday p.m. dock fishing has been pretty good, with the catch being mostly large stripers.

FOR SATURDAY, THE 4TH OF JULY, IF YOU PLAN TO STAY ON THE LAKE FOR THE FIREWORKS (AS YET UNCONFIRMED), YOU MUST HAVE A 4-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE AND BE BACK AND OUT OF THE PARK NO LATER THAN 11:00 P.M. FOR GATE CLOSURE. ALL 2-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES MUST BE OUT BY 8:00 P.M. DUE TO BOBCAT ASSISTANCE. WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND COOPERATION.

Summer Lake Update

June 3, 2009 -- Summer is here...are you having fun yet? We are! As of this morning, the lake level is 32.09 feet below spillway. Haven't seen a rise from the recent rains yet. We do not have a swim area, however, we are still launching boats 24' and under. Prefer 4-wheel drive but can still do 2-wheel drive with assist at pull-out by the bobcat. We're here to help. Dock fishermen on Friday and Saturday 5-10 p.m. have been catching stripers, perch and catfish. Don't like the heat...come out and fish from the dock when it cools down. Now making reservations for 4th of July weekend...don't miss out. Still have choice dates for weekend parties and cabin rentals. Give us a call to secure your fun day at the lake!

April 24, 2009 -- Just a quick update about the lake. Current level is 27.67 below spillway, which is still 10 feet higher than 2 years ago. We are still launching boats and are here to assist if you have problems getting back out. Swim rope will be replaced when the water level comes back up to the beach area. Fishing has been pretty good...catch has included perch and catfish (always) and starting to catch small bass, occasional crappie, and some striper. We also have one jet ski dock for rent $75/month with 5-6 month lease.

The campsites have now been completely renovated. They have been leveled up with railroad ties and filled with materials that will drain...no more flooding when it rains...we're being optimistic that it will! Campsites include new ground fire rings with attached flip-top bbq grill, tables have lantern hooks and a bucket will be provided each site for water. Come check out the improvements.

We are presently taking reservations for long-term summer RV'ers, and reservations for Memorial Day. We look forward to seeing you.
